The tank capacity is 1.8 gallons, so the output is obviously based on a refill For room coverage up to 1,000 square feet. Wicks filter out and accumulate minerals and other impurities that occur naturally in any water supply. Filtering assures you of safe, healthful, day-long comfort that comes from proper humidification. The humidifier uses 2 filters (included) and filters should be replaced at least once each season. Replacement filters are available as an option at additional cost.

I just got this humidifier a few days ago and it's been great in alleviating respiratory irritation due to dry air in my apartment. Vornado prides itself in having a powerful fan that moves air, and this seems to be the great advantage of this product. You can put it anywhere in your room and it will circulate humid air evenly. There won't even be a wet spot on the ground next to the humidifier. You can't actually see the water vapor coming out, but it doesn't matter since (on the highest setting), the reservoir will be empty after a night's use. The bottom line is that this is easy to use, it's customizable, and it works well. I haven't had to change the filter yet, but will update my opinion once i've had this humidifier for a while.

One star for not continuing to supply the earlier model, which was the ultimate in simplicity. I have four of them. I dread the time when I can no longer get replacement supplies.
