Amazon.com Review Suitable for up to 700 square feet, this humidifier from Holmes emits gentle clouds of warm mist to soothe the agitating effects of overly dry air. Adjustable and easy to use, the unit features a 1.8-gallon tank that is easy to remove, carry, and fill. The unit can run up to 24 hours on one tank and has a maximum output of 3 gallons per day. Two speed settings and a dial-controlled humidistat--ranging from 25 to 65 percent humidity--let you tailor output to your needs. Tidily stored underneath the water tank, a water filter helps trap minerals and deposits, so that the mist emitted is as clean as possible. Other helpful structural details include automatic safety shut-off, a dishwasher-safe tray, power and reset lights, and a locking mechanism on the motor housing. Holmes also builds in a petite medicine cup for use with designated humidifier medications. Throughout the unit, Microban anti-microbial protection helps fight bacteria, mold, and mildew between cleanings. Assembled, the humidifier measures approximately 14 by 10-1/4 by 12 inches. It carries a three-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Very happy with this humidifier! March 7, 2006 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've done a lot of research for humidifiers, and I bought many (and returned them). I've had this humidifier for 6 months now and I use it in my daughter's room. The tank lasts two nights on the low setting, and one night on the high setting. I clean the base and heating element about once a week with warm water. There is a lot of build-up, so be sure to clean it.
I'm getting a second one of these for myself. I think for the price, you will be happy with this product.
Works fine for us! November 2, 2005 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have had this product for 2 years. I use it once we turn on our heat so as to relieve my daughters bouts with Eczema. Last year, we did not use it soon enough and her skin was so dry!! After reading the reviews about the RESET button....I, too, do not know how that is used yet, have never really cared. We do fll it up everynight an set it on HIGH and it runs from 7:30 PM till 7 AM! Once a week, I run it for about 15 minutes with White Vinegar in the resevoir to clean and rid of scaling! It has never failed us! The only thing I worry about is all the moisture on the walls which could potentially produce mold?! In the morning, I do open a window for a few and turn on her ceilig fan to "dry" up the moisture a bit!
EASY TO CLEAN & USE!! November 20, 2003 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
In the past I've bought the ones sold in the baby stores for my son, but they are so hard to keep clean. This product is awesome and so easy to clean! I recommend it to anyone who needs a humidifier to aid in sick family members. I like it so much I'm going to buy another in case I have to people sick at once.
Delighted with product March 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have gone through several humidifiers in my lifetime. This is easily the best one that I have had. You have to be careful with the large water tank because of the size and weight when loaded. Otherwise, the components appear to be durable enough for long-term use. It really gets the job done with surprisingly little hassle.
Works great when you read the directions December 6, 2005 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
We purchased this for a vacation home in an arid climate. I got it, filled it, turned it on, and nothing happened. Then I read the short instruction booklet. Duh. It works great. The unit works fine, shuts off when its supposed to and operates quiet enough for a bedroom. You get a full night out of one fill. We also own a Honeywell product, and it operates in a similar fashion. If you don't clean these products regularly, you'll have problems. The manufacturer recommends doing this daily, but a quick clean out every few days works well. You'll be amazed at how much sediment builds up in such a short time. Note this is a humidifier, not a vaporizer. If you want to have damp air, consider a vaporizer.
