Large and heavy-duty, the unit is does make its presence known audibly--it creates quite a wind even on low speeds and on high may drown out conversation. I have used Patton air circulators for the last twenty years,
and if you are looking for something much more effecient than
the common box fan that you see in department stores, this is
really a fan. The first one I bought had the C.F.M. rating on
it, which was 9600----They don't put that on the fan anymore,
but it is a three speed fan that will really circulate some
air, and can be adjusted to blow straight up. Nothing I have
seen even comes close for the money----

I purchased this fan for my teenage son who like the drone of a fan to sleep. I have since purchased another one to put at the top of my stairs to help circulate the air from the downstairs since we have no ceiling fans. My son loves how much air this baby pumps out and the steady hum has been a wonderful plus, saying he hasn't slept this good in a long time. the 2nd fan has done wonders for the house circulation and I too have come to enjoy sleeping with it on in my bedroom. Very sturdy steel construction, easy assembly of the legs. 3 speeds. Top speed is out of this world. Almost like a wind storm. Me and my boys actually ripped up tissue paper and had a ball putting it in front of the fan and watching them swirl all over the house. What a riot! I highly recommend this fan for excellent air circulation, sleep aid and some silly fun.

Excellent fan.... I have a smaller Patton that I bought about 10 years ago, and it is noisy too... industrial strength fans are noisy. Moving air makes noise. A very good fan, well built and I think it's a good value for $$$$.

I purchased this fan to place in my horse's stall to keep him cool during the hot, humid New Orleans' summer. Fan runs about 16 hours a day in less than perfect conditions and usually lasts two summers. Very pleased with this product.

This fan is totally hands down the Best of the Best! I had already owned three of these already, but one of them broke and it took me one whole year to find another one, i did check amazon last year but there was none here, so i tried back this year and Thank you Amazon for having it this year cause, i couldn't replace it with no other fan. i would give it 10 stars if i can!
